Stefania Dei Rossi presents various collections of paperweights, all united under the evocative name "Eight by Eight." This artifact takes its name from the dimensions of the pure 24-karat gold leaf, traditionally produced in the 8 by 8 centimeter format.
The choice to create a paperweight of these dimensions is thus a tribute to the historic tradition of gold production and craftsmanship, as well as the ancient art of gilding, bestowing upon the paperweight profound cultural significance and a historical legacy.
Collections
The Goldbeater’s Eight by Eight
The essence of Venice captured in a paperweight.
The artist’s drawings evoke the memory of the lagoon city's landscapes, and are further enhanced by the manual application of pure gold leaf produced by Mario Berta Battiloro, the last master artisanal goldbeater remained in Europe.
The Eight by Eight Animal Kingdom
A fairy-tale universe captured in a paperweight.
The "Eight by Eight Animal Kingdom" collection celebrates the charm of nature through a selection of animals that feel as though they’ve stepped straight out of the pages of a storybook.
Each subject is encased in glass and adorned with hand-applied pure gold leaf.
The Eight by Eight with your Initial
The glass paperweight adorned with your initial and a 24-karat gold leaf.
This artifact embodies a dual uniqueness: the invaluable nature of the artisanal gilding process and the irreplaceable familiarity of the most cherished sound, that of our own name.
